Lattitude7’s journey over the past 15 years
In September 2025, Lattitude7 will have been in operation for 15 years. Martin Haigh founded the company in 2010 following a successful career in engineering leadership and, more latterly, a global coaching role. Martin wanted to create a business that offered a wide range of development solutions to help people, their businesses and, ultimately the customers of these clients. All aimed at the client enjoying long-term, sustainable benefits from his interventions.
Lattitude7 started with three key offerings: personal development, team development and business process excellence. Prospects and clients could select topics from each of these three primary areas and Lattitude7 then compiled them into a streamlined, joined-up, development programme. As the company grew, the offering was significantly extended to include: psychometric profiling, emotional intelligence, compassionate leadership, NLP, cultural awareness and EDI. Given Martin’s engineering knowledge, he also created and delivered many programmes on Six Sigma and lean processing, giving clients a rich portfolio of topics from which to select.
Martin did not cover all the sessions on his own as he was ably assisted by a team of ten associates. These were experts in their own right and helped to strengthen the Lattitude7 offering and reach.
Over the past 15 years Lattitude7 has supported key clients including Birmingham City Council, Calderdale Council, York City Council, Manchester Met. University, Universities of Bradford and Leeds and various departments in the NHS. Corporate clients include Jaguar Land Rover, BVAA, I.Mech.E, London, The Manufacturing Institute and overseas companies such as: Matador Textiles and Britcom in Romania and Fisita in Europe.
Alongside the corporate offering, Lattitude7 conducts around 30% of its work pro bono, for schools and disadvantaged groups (young people out of work and/or who have a different ability). In recognition of the success and culture of the business, Lattitude7 has received 12 business awards, including a Queen’s Award for Enterprise in the ‘Promoting Opportunity through Social Mobility’ category and, Martin was also honoured with an MBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list in 2016 for his charity and community work.
Martin said that since forming the company in 2010 they have not had a single day without work and many of the clients from 2010/2011 are still working with us.
